LollyPop!

A simple poem such as Lolly lolly POP! teaches multiple skills - moving, listening and engaging together. Whoever would have imagined that a lollypop rhyme could achieve so many things?

Lolly Pop Poem

Lolly Lolly, POP!

Lolly Lolly POP!

Lolly, lolly, lolly, lolly, lolly, lolly, POP!

Look out for the LollyPOP! video in our next blog!

Have a go, then try this together with your toddlers (pop them either in front of you, so they can follow you, or support them gently creating the movement).

Fine Motor Skills

Can you see Emma’s arm movements? She is working her gross (large) motor muscles on the left and right side - an important skill to help young children to develop balance and strength.

Hand / Eye Coordination

The final CLAP! helps with hand/eye coordination - another life skill to help vision and physical action to work together. After a few goes try pausing before the ‘clap’ and see what your toddler does…

Rhythmical play

Available Now

Once you have mastered this together, encourage your 3 year olds to tap the rhythm with claves in different musical ways. Tapping very quietly, then loudly on ‘POP’ is a good start!

Check out the claves in our shop, they are just £4.00.

Gross (big) and fine (small) motor movement

3-4 year olds will love tip-toeing in time to the beat of Lolly, lolly… before pausing, keeping their balance, then jumping on “POP!” This is a great way to establish coordination of fine motor, then gross motor action.
